Work scheduled to start in the park on Tuesday 7 May

Iverde have let us know that, weather permitting, work is scheduled to start in the park on 7 May. Here’s what they’ve told us:

We are extremely pleased to announce that the commencement of the works to install phase one of the Coney Hall ‘Play for All’ project is scheduled for Tuesday 7 May.  It is anticipated to be completed within one week (weather dependent).

Thanks to generous contributions from London Borough of Bromley, FM Conway and the tireless work and fundraising efforts of the Friends of Coney Hall, the project will see the revamp of a disused area, with resurfacing and installation of an inclusive table tennis and ‘learn to ride’ area.

Please note that, unfortunately, during the main phase of the works, there will be no access to the tennis courts.  However, once complete, the path which is being installed as part of the ‘Play for All’ project will facilitate disabled access not only to the new table tennis tables and ‘learn to ride’ area but also the newly resurfaced tennis courts.  Access for all was not possible before but this important change will help make the park more inclusive for everyone.  Please bear with us during this time; we apologise for any inconvenience experienced.

The Friends are continuing to raise money for phase two of the project, which hopes to establish a MUGA (multi-use games area) installed behind the park pavilion.  If you would like to donate to the project, please visit the Friends’ crowdfunding page.
