Friends of Coney Hall Park: update

An update from Alison Regester, FOCHP Chair

The Friends of Coney Hall Park (FOCHP) recently held a Black Tie ball at The Warren, fundraising for their ‘Play for All’ project. Sponsored by Bromley Property Company and the Flooring Centre, we raised £9,500 and I described plans for major improvements including a new all-weather football/basketball area, plus table tennis tables and a ‘learn to ride’ circuit. Ward Councillors Thomas Turrell and Alexa Michael support this project, which will benefit residents of all ages.

The group has received £20,000 from the Platinum Jubilee Fund and a £12,000 Friends Initiative grant, both from Bromley Council. So far over £50,000 has been raised, but more is urgently needed.

‘Play for All’ can only proceed if enough money is raised. Visit the group’s Just Giving page
to find out more and donate.

Recent consultation showed overwhelming support for this exciting project. Inevitably, there will be some with questions, but the location and size has taken account of any concerns raised. Idverde (Bromley’s Park Management Contractors) are responsible for project management and applying for planning permission. No contractors have been appointed yet and Bromley’s stringent procurement procedures must be followed.

To hear more about this and our environmental work, come to the Residents’ Association AGM on 25th April.
